Across the Spectrum: Temple Grandin
In recognition of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, EARN is dedicating this month’s weekly e-blasts to highlighting outstanding women with disabilities. This week, EARN features Temple Grandin, Ph.D., a bestselling author and prominent speaker and activist on the subject of autism. Diagnosed with autism at the age of three, Dr. Grandin has built a successful career as a livestock-handling equipment designer and currently works as a Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University. She has been featured on many radio and television programs and in magazines such as Time, People, Forbes, U.S. News and World Report, and in the New York Times. In 2010, Dr. Grandin’s life story was made into an HBO movie titled “Temple Grandin” starring Claire Danes. Click here to read more about Temple Grandin.
