Jessica Cox: Flying with Sole
In recognition of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, EARN is dedicating this month’s weekly e-blasts to highlighting outstanding women with disabilities. This week, EARN features Jessica Cox, international motivational speaker and the first woman to earn her pilot’s license in spite of being born without arms. Having learned to live her life with her feet, Jessica got her first black belt in the International Taekwondo Federation at age 14, and is the first armless person to earn a black belt in the American Taekwondo Association. In 2011, Jessica received the Guinness World Record for being the first person certified to fly an airplane with only their feet. Jessica attended the University of Arizona where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and now works as a motivational speaker and travels the world sharing her story.
