Tackling Disability in Diversity Plans

This year, diversity found an unlikely ally in the form of this year’s Super Bowl. As Assistant Secretary Kathleen Martinez notes in her blog, a commercial featuring the Seattle Seahawks’ Derrick Coleman, the first deaf offensive player in the NFL, illustrates how disability reaches into all aspects of work and play. Disability is the only facet of diversity that can affect all of us regardless of our ethnic, racial, cultural, gender, age, education, or socioeconomic backgrounds.
