Download PDF The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was signed into law on July 22, 2014 and will take effect on July 1, 2015. The Act seeks to streamline the workforce development system and increase services to youth with disabilities. WIOA also emphasizes employer engagement to help employers provide work-based learning for people with disabilities, and establishes new requirements for ensuring collaboration among relevant stakeholders at federal and state levels.
