The ADA at Work: Considerations for COVID-19

April 3, 2020 by YTI Web

Date:
Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 1 PM – 2 PM ET
Description:
Employers always need to balance the overarching purpose and productivity of their business with the needs of individual employees.  This has never been as pertinent as it is right now, with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. This webinar will feature a discussion about balancing guidance on COVID-19 containment from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  During this webinar, we will examine implications of the pandemic on disability-related inquiries, medical examinations, and interpreting direct threat.  We will also talk about requirements for reasonable accommodations for telework, requests for which have spiked due to the required social distancing period.
Presenters:
  • Wendy Strobel Gower, Director, Northeast ADA Center and Co-Director of EARN
  • Karen Goss, Co-Director, Mid-Atlantic ADA Center
