The discussion during the “Transforming HR Through Innovative Disability-Inclusive Policies and Practices” virtual think tank will focus on the phases of the employment life cycle including recruitment, hiring, retention, and advancement. Insights from this think tank will enable employers to adopt innovative and more disability-inclusive approaches to their human resource policies and practices.

Purpose

The purpose of the “Transforming HR Through Innovative Disability-Inclusive Policies and Practices” virtual think tank is to solicit input and foster discussion on the topic of reimagining traditional HR policies and practices to be more inclusive of people with disabilities and with other intersecting identities. The outcomes of this think tank will help employers and other organizations to reimagine HR, inform potential policy priorities, and normalize new and innovative approaches towards maximizing the workforce participation of people with disabilities and with other intersecting identities. Our focus is on quality life-sustaining jobs and career paths for people with disabilities.

Objective

Identify and then iterate innovative policy and practice approaches toward overcoming persistent workplace barriers for people with disabilities. Of particular interest is the employment experiences of people with disabilities at the intersection of multiple identities.
