This policy brief explores issues related to the ADA and the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this policy brief is to highlight emerging practices that employers may use as workers return to the workplace during and after the Covid-19 pandemic in ways that facilitate equal employment opportunity for qualified individuals with disabilities and protect the health and safety of all employees. It covers screening and interviewing job applicants and hiring and onboarding new employees; inquiries about medical conditions and medical exams administered to current employees; maintaining the confidentiality of inquiries and medical information obtained; preventing transmission; and reasonable accommodation.
