The ADA at Work: Considerations for COVID-19
This webinar discusses balancing guidance on COVID-19 containment from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Employers always need to balance the overarching purpose and productivity of their business with the needs of individual employees. This has never been as pertinent as during the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 1, 2020, EARN hosted a webinar to discuss balancing guidance on COVID-19 containment from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The webinar also examined the implications of the pandemic on disability-related inquiries, medical examinations and interpreting direct threat. Requirements for reasonable accommodations for telework, requests for which spiked due to the required social distancing period, were also discussed.
